Remember- lunch with Karl Lagerfeld tomorrow at Noon!

I don't know about you, but if I had a lunch date with Karl Lagerfeld, I wouldn't forget it! Fortunately for us, someone who had the privilege of dining with Karl did forget, and, so, "Remember Now" was born.

The short 17-minute film was created with the intention of showcasing Chanel's new resort collection, but with appearances from Heidi Mount (one of my favorite models!), Magdalena Frackowiak (a fellow countrywoman), Freja, Karolina Kurkova, and Leigh Lazark, the film offered so much more than merely a preview of Karl's newest work. There was intrigue (why did it take them all night to walk to the after-party?), impromptu dancing, singing. And all of it was made possible with the participation of Baptiste Giabiconi. I love how the credits read "with the participation of" as if Baptiste appeared in the film as some sort of magnanimous gesture. The man has only been a part of every project (from the catwalk to magazine editorials) that Karl has done lately.

One of my favorite scenes from the film was when Magdalena, dressed as Brigitte Bardot for a 70's- themed party, began busting a move out of nowhere before proceeding to hop onto the back of a Vespa. Classic. I also loved how Karolina Kurkova appeared channeling Lady Gaga en route to a fierce late-night dance party.

After all of this glamorous excitement, the models were too exhausted to go on and so an early morning disco nap was needed to reinvigorate them. Enter Karl Lagerfeld himself decked out in an immaculate white suit wondering why his lunch date stood him up. (Um, why would someone blow off Karl??!)

The movie was frivolous and fun, but infinitely worth seventeen minutes of your time. Check out "Remember Now" at http://nymag.com/daily/fashion.
